As the title suggests, after suggestions for a good hunting recurve or long bow. Leaning more towards the compact and packability of the recurve but I do like the long bows as well so it ruling them out yet. Any suggestions much appreciate.

come to the dark side.....................buy a compound
Recurve and no sight aids, practise instinctively
A big fast bullet beats a little fast bullet every time
Something like this at 60" is still quite compact

303 and save yourself a lot of frustration lol
Hybrid (reflex/reflex) longbow can be very short and have qualities of both recurve and longbow.
hey mate, stick shooter supplies is good to deal with, be worth a call. id go one of the cheaper ones to start with (wont be much of an accuracy or speed difference from a high end one just not as nice in the hand) if you enjoy it then splash out on something fancy. if your a lefty ive got a 2piece longbow you can have a play with.
arrowhead archery or archey park are good to deal with
Arrowhead had a couple of recurve last time I was in, stick shooters is next best
Have to agree with @c-dog Stickshooters is very good to deal with.
Pinched the wife's yoga mat and sorted a temp target. Good to have a play, definately need some more pratice.![]()
@c-dog we shoot archery down at the shooting centre on Creyke Rd every Wednesday night from 7pm. Pop on down for a look. 18m indoor over winter and with daylight saving we shoot outside to just about whatever range you want.
