Thread: S&W large frame hammer spring

Just had an old cupboard find brought in to the system and put on my licence , Unfortunately the hammer spring is in two pieces. Does anyone have a hammer spring they are willing to sell to suit a S&W 1917 . Pretty sure most large frame S&W springs will do the job.

If I recall correctly it is about 3" long, 1/4" wide tapered, a knob at the bottom and a curved claw at the top, I could probably make one up of I had the old one to copy, using already tempered circular saw blade as the base marerial.

Cheers for the thought Noelfj, I considered pretty much the same thing, but the spring that was in there is pretty hefty, Much thicker and a heap more tension than my 686 "Wolf" spring .
