What is the difference between the Tipped and Untipped performance wise? in 308.

The idea with projos like the TTSX is that the polymer tip improves the BC a smidge and initiates expansion a bit more rapidly on impact. I'm sure that would hold true for the Makers too, though the fella at Maker reckons it doesn't make a particularly meaningful difference at the ranges that most of us will be (should be?) hunting out to. But it's what people want these days so why argue...

Because copper bullets are longer than equivalent weight/shape lead jacketed bullets, I did find in 223 that if you need to make rounds that fit into something like a PMAG for a Ruger Ranch (so <2.260" COL), that the tip on the 62gr T-REX forces you to seat it deeper into the case than you'd really like to and puts the ogive very close to the case mouth. The ogive on the non-tipped 62gr REX hangs out a bit further and allows for a little more flexibility with seating depth and room for powder behind it. Not going to be an issue with a 110gr bullet in a 308 though with at least 2.860" to play with.

Send me a PM or message me on that number. Cheers.

    I would say bugger all.
Maker 168gn .308 Trex shot from 30/06 and recovered from a deer. Deer was 309m shot by a mate.

All the deer I have shot or seen shot with them have expired more or less on the spot.

I have used them in my 16 inch 308 but yet to recover a bullet

Couldn't reccomend them enough for "normal hunting ranges"

Want to try the 110gn ones now in my 300WSM

Maker have been struggling to get raw materials since Mr Trump started throwing tariffs on metals around at the start of the year.

Our order is in. Just waiting on Maker at the moment. Things look to be calming down and returning so something resembling normal so fingers crossed not too much longer.
