An 18" 708 loaded warm with 162eldx/m will more than cover 0-500m. Had a 284 but not worth it in my eyes. If you wanna spice it up go a 20" rem mag with those 175eldx

I mainly use dome type pellets on animals, they are far more accurate. Shot placement is absolutely key with airgun hunting.
