    I just can't agree with that, even though I can see where you are coming from. Hearing damage is not a on or off thing so even if it's in the damage zone it's still better to be lower down in it....

    Be careful, if you file off too much the lead will leave the barrel and the copper jacket could get stuck in the barrel. Next shot could be your last so check the barrel each shot you fire
