Hunting Sika in winter IS quite challenging Hunty. They basically bed down, and you're fortunate to see them in the open. Heading right over and in to Thunderbolt is a bit of mission, likely not...

Cheers mate, yeah been into Clements a few times. Definitely no shortage of deer in there! First NI hunt for the dog was in there. She looked very confused by the first sika that squealed at her. You...

You got it. Top spot there, but bloody frigid up there at the mo. Spend some time on WAMS satellite view and check out northern facing basins anywhere from a quarter to two thirds the way up out...

It looks like they have changed their system. The last time I used it you entered your FAL number and that was all. Apparently their system sent a query to a police system that matched the number to...

Agree. I have a leupold @ 2.5 - 8 * 36 with b&c reticle on my 308. It has proven very satisfactory out to 600 yards and is ideal in the forest as well.

Love how a blokes post asking for opinions on scopes around the $1k mark for shooting 500yds turns into a NF vs Kahles conversation. All the scopes mentioned in original post will do all the op wants...

I got some 55 gr BT of a friend for the 243 and loaded a mild load of 41.5gr of AR 2208 for 3360 fps , it shot a 19 mm group which wasn't to bad . On the internet I found the max load for 2208 was 45...

I've had fair dialing from cheaper scopes but the question for me is how well it still works when its 5 years and 2000 308 rounds down the track. Compared to 20 years ago, we now expect scopes to...

Coopers creek is a safe place to park. Parked there a number of times overnight with no issues.

I zero at 600 yards and everything closer is fine, never spent more than 1k on a scope and I shoot reliable groups to that distance.
