    I use 200gn eldx in mine (20 inch barrel) 2750fps. Shoots good as far as I want. Can repeatably hit things far away. I don't dial but use holdover on a B&C reticle 400m is as far as I am interested...

    You should be able to run 178gr at 2900 or more from 20inch.

    I have a 19” 300 wsm and love it, has dropped everything on its feet. Originally had it at 21 inches and was getting 178eldx at 2900 happily no problem but I hunt bush most of the time so cut to 19....

    I should have mentioned too, before my mates 20” rem mag he had an 18” 7mmsaum. That ran the 168VLD at 2850fps. I’ve always though a 7mm WSM would be cool too, it just seems to be very uncommon...

    A die will only give you longitudinal scoring, not circumferential. DEF suspect it's chamber machining marks.
