I'm a big fan of peanut m&ms and chocolate coffee beans for a good energy hit. And any sort of nuts, especially almonds. Fruits wise I put in banana chips, dates, dried apple or apricots.

When I was a scout I used to have salted peanuts and energy chocolate as the only ingredients in my Scroggin mix. These days I might put cashews in as well or macadamia nuts if I have won lotto :)

Any protein or sugar works well for me. Dark choc/M&Ms dried fruit and seeds, Jerky & salami in a separate bag as I like it still a little moist.
