Ive eaten it in Sweden. Really nice. More beef like than venison I found. I was on the dogs one day on a driven hunt and had a bull charge past us at 10-15 meters. An incredible sight and sound of...

I think there were a lot shot. By random chance I was in a house of new acquaintances. The lady said her father had been a keen hunter and showed us his trophy room. There was a small bull moose...

Did you ever hear the story how a certain meat shooter in Te Anau had shot a cow moose but was afraid of the blow back if he spilled his guts? I personally knew the chap along with his meat...

Not that i've ever been to Fiordland, but for me there would be an internal struggle if i were looking at one through the scope, not sure i would pull the trigger either.

I wonder.. Who would, if they saw a moose down there, take the shot? I wouldn't. Among other things I wouldn't wish to be known as thew person who killed the last moose.

I'd like to think there were a few hiding out down there (Moose, not DOC), unlikely, but who knows.

The way I look at it wherever you hunt you need the odds on your side not the animals. By that I mean every gully you look into you need the advantage, in that you need to know the animal is there...

Good advice there. I would say that just because it's "close" and hunted a lot (I'm thinking of the lazy buggers with thermals on quad bikes here) doesn't mean all the deer there are shot. Really...

The thing i like about shooting public land is that its available to everyone anytime, all it costs is a bit of effort and a lot of sweat. And if you happen to shoot something you're proud of it's...
