I only have a 1:12" twist so stick to the 55gr projectiles. They are pretty cheap and effective on anything I've used them on so far. I could probably get the accuracy better, but don't see the point...

My cheap little 223 is reasonably accurate Will print the same 11-13mm group at 100m day after day with cheap hunting ammo. For me the most versatile is the humble 223. For a while I was getting...

Great write up, and good to see the Mrs was happy too. That's always a bonus.

+1 Toby passed away on gadgette#2's 1th birthday. Have missed her birthday a couple of times since with the Toby shoot. Hope is that she'll make it along this year if her timetable allows.

That was me and TimeRider at the first Toby Shoot. Neither of us had shot a target beyond 97m. TimeRider got out to 585y with her 243 with some coaching. We're not going to mention my performances....

A mini Mauser action, pretty much a copy of a Sako Vixen from what I gather. 1:12 twist using Hornady Training ammo puts the 55gn SP in 12mm at 100m. If I want to shoot something heavier I can use...

Then I was looking for a longer legged rodent buster I looked at the 17HMR, but figured that with reloading the 223 is about the same price for ammo. The 223 could be used on bigger critters and...
