The T3 isn't designed to be used with a half bolt and adding a half-assed one isn't a great idea. Use the safety. Don't pull the trigger when you don't intend to fire the rifle.

When you say "military style" that's sort of meaningless as far as quality/function/anything. You could say "mil-spec" which has more meaning. Most of the ARs we see here aren't made to mil-spec....
