GSP HUNTER liked post by Tahr On thread : New government will rewrite Arms Act
I’m surprised about the extent of the announcement. It takes quite a determined approach and breakthrough to shift such an obstacle. “When everybody shares a crazy belief, no one believes it's...

GSP HUNTER liked post by woods223 On thread : How heavy should a hunting rifle be?
Reading this thread made me go out and weigh a few rifles, all ready to go bang as it were. Bit surprised actually. 308's vary from 3.4 to 3.91 kg. 223's 4.878 for night hunting rig and 4.073 for my...

My first rifle was a Tikka M695 in 270win. With a can, 3-15 Burris Signature HD scope, medium height optilocks with bases, and bipod it weighed just shy of 5kg loaded. Full wood stock, flat-bottomed...

GSP HUNTER liked post by ZQLewis On thread : 90gr ELDX in my old 243
I was just going to suggest that the ELD-X's may be a bit stout for goats unless the velocities are up and the range is short. Different story if you were taking on a pig or a good red deer. Z

GSP HUNTER liked post by Floundering Around On thread : I need help! 270 barrel chop, cant make a decision
Personally I would say there is no harm in getting it threaded for a can and cerakoted. It is your rifle now and it is a hunting rifle at the end of the day. Fundamentally it is a tool, not a display...

Probably the most versatile 270 I've had (and I've had one or two) would have been 19" T3, it was nice to point and carry with dpt on it and could still poke 150 LRABs out at 2850 which puts the hurt...
