I had one done. Looks neat. Doesn't save a noticeable amount of weight. Don't regret it - but itch has been scratched and it certainly costs too much for me to want to get it done on another.

I've only ever done it for asthetics but hey like you said "if you like it, you like it" most important if you are going to get it done, get it done by a reputable gunsmith.
