Agreed. Svord peasant is great. Easy to sharpen. Has a hole for safety lanyard. I carry one in belt bag to complement my 40 year old svord main knife.

Or if plastic stock, check screw holds have not split round the circumference, possibly due to over torqueing. You will obviously have to remove the stock to do the examination.

Try the end of the Waitawheta valley in the Kaimais. Access off backroad near Waihi. There is a fancy newish hut towards the end of the valley with easy benched walking access from Franklin roadend.
