About LMcNab
Biography:
Hi everyone, I have been around the chat for a while, just reading and piping up every now and again, but have recently seen it mentioned a couple of times that the introduction is significant in joining the community.
I'm a early 30's father of 3, farming in the south of the south. I've always been interested in hunting but its never made it far enough up the hobbie list for serious expeditions so mostly farm hunting for me so far. Due to no longer being up to my main sport, rugby, I'm keen to get into it more and I need something to get me off the farm once in a while.
My little brother was a serious hunter. Big missions up and down the laps on both coasts, a couple of fiordland trips and a stint guiding in the northern mountain forests of British Columbia.
I always anticipated he would drag my big ass out and show me some real nz hunting when he came home to farm with me.
We lost him before that plan came together. If anything, this has made me more determined now to make it happen, live some of the experiences that he lived and hopefully measure up to some of his legacy.

First Howa I ever owned. Bit agricultural compared to some other rifles ive got/had but it's super lightweight functions well and I'm sure will shoot good. 226611

Here's an old farts opinion. A 140 grn 6.5 caliber bullet with a minimum MV of about 2,600 fps or over will kill any deer out to 300 yards at least. Regardless of the head stamp. If its stamped...

There are some bloody great farmers out there, without them I wouldn't get too many deer. Sorry some of you have had a bad experience

Just out from 5 nights in the Bush. Few stags going still but not well enough to get onto them that way. All animals were shot on the stalk, seemed to be quite a few decent animals around this...

I wouldn't say it's high quality reporting, so let's get that out of the way, not endlessly complain about it, and move onto what we as hunters can actually do, within our control, to help prevent...
