Biography:
Hi everyone, I have been around the chat for a while, just reading and piping up every now and again, but have recently seen it mentioned a couple of times that the introduction is significant in joining the community.
I'm a early 30's father of 3, farming in the south of the south. I've always been interested in hunting but its never made it far enough up the hobbie list for serious expeditions so mostly farm hunting for me so far. Due to no longer being up to my main sport, rugby, I'm keen to get into it more and I need something to get me off the farm once in a while.
My little brother was a serious hunter. Big missions up and down the laps on both coasts, a couple of fiordland trips and a stint guiding in the northern mountain forests of British Columbia.
I always anticipated he would drag my big ass out and show me some real nz hunting when he came home to farm with me.
We lost him before that plan came together. If anything, this has made me more determined now to make it happen, live some of the experiences that he lived and hopefully measure up to some of his legacy.

Stumbled on some nice cast antlers on a DOC block last week, got me a little excited about next years roar. The 3 of them were all within a 100m circle. These 2 stags are obviously pretty cunning,...

My guess on the timing would be that they want the Nannies dead before they drop their spring kids and the numbers double again?

When I first started shepherding I had a huntaway get hung up, I was only halfway through my 50m sprint to him and the stock manager had already got his insulated cutters out and cut the hotwire,...

Went for a walk last night with the aim playing with some stags and if the opportunity arose, bring home some venison. Unless I came across a monster, I was after a hind or a scrubber. After a close...
