Nailed it there - for whatever reason that batch of components are not achieving the listed speeds. 'Max' is what the factory lists for the rifle using factory ammo , within a few percent should be...

Fark me....if you can't do that with 25/06 you might as well just use a 270 and do it.... Just chuck the chronograph away and be happy lol

Not so much the wrong chambering as the same factors would likely influence whatever else is chosen. It comes back to the trajectory, every extra inch of drop at 100 shortens your usable effective...

My experience with the 25-06 has shown that the best accuracy tends to be close to max loads, currently I load for five different 25-06 rifles. In three of these rifles I found that the 100 grain...

Greetings, I have had disappointing results with AR2208 in the .308 as well and have mostly used AR2206H for some years. I chronographed some comparison loads recently in a 24" barrel. AR2206H gave...

I hear you on this one, my .308win is doing this too. For some reason it's way down on velocity and I've basically checked everything mechanical with it to ensure I'm not getting sucked into porkies...

The first rifle i bought was a Ruger m77mk2 .243 1:10twist. I shot a couple of hundred deer with it over about 14 years using the Hornady 87gr sp. Most were head or top of neck shot to 250m. 3-9...

Drillings and whatever the Eurosexuals call their triple-barreled hunting rifles are an excellent way to make a very expensive rifle that is crap at everything.

It's sort of up to the dealers. I know we don't really like when it happens from another outfit to GC and vice versa. H&F is the same. If we're sending them a rifle then they require MoF done....
