    1. You will always need earmuffs without a suppressor to not cause hearing damage with a 308. 2. Couldn't give you a length but i'd guess that with really good earmuffs you could go pretty bloody...

    Yeah it does make it a fair bit quieter. I think mine was one of those soft rubber ones, can't remember the name or brand. Just hear a click really now with subs.

    I didn't mean that all $400 scopes were rubbish....but there's definitely some that are. All I am saying is that he's bought a nice rifle...A7's aren't at the low end, so why put a cheap scope on it...
