I did read about a guy who had something like this happen with an AR15. He took it to a gunsmwith, they screwed a fitting onto the end of the barrel and pumped grease into it until it came out.

I think that the simple answer is that here's less of a spread of huntable animal species over here. If I'm not mistaken you can conquer everything here with 12ga/22/223/308.
