    Your firing pin is skinnier than the hole it pokes out of in the bolt. The primer will extrude back and into the gap between the two, hense the little ring around the strike mark in the primer....

    My 2 cents worth is for the 12g , if you value your shotgun and mybe your life empty the cartridges and then fire off the primers . Old paper cartridges reloaded with who nos what are not worth...
