No that would make it worse, the barrel needs to go down, maybe clamp it down into the stock and put some duct tape or a zip tie around it.

You could hammer a felling wedge in under the Barrel,jack that Barrel up a bit. Just use a polymer one not a steel wedge so you don't scratch the bluing.
