    In the situation where a scope hasn't been adjusted in years it can get sticky and benefit from a wind up and down and tapping even, then presto ! it starts working fine again. I had this last year...

    40mm have you considered other options aside from a in-fire wet back considering you have quite a small firebox? I would go with either a Yunca style water jacket heater that sits above the fire box...
