Moa Hunter liked post by dannyb On thread : Sako finbear what's it worth and is it worth salvaging ?
Maybe salvage was the wrong word, rescue from an eternity of sitting in the back of a safe being unused may be better, I don't intend to change the character at all. Hopefully just hunt with it...

Definitely worth salvaging....what it is worth in dollar values I have no idea but would guess in the region of a BRNO in similar condition? so 500-900? depending on if it still shoots?

I dont think I'll jump in and buy a creedmore if you have one of those AR type rifles maybe, I'll stick to the 260 in Rem mod 7.

Moa Hunter liked post by wayno On thread : 7mm SAUM, WSM, Blaser Magnum, Rem Mag and 284 Superpig Discussion
I run a 30/284 and for the 30 fan i think this would be a good all rounder as with the right twist barrel you could run 130 to 180plus bullets , to suit . The 284 is a very versatile case

Used to have a 7mmSAUM superpig. 18 inch supressed barrel. Ran 162gr Amax at 2,820fps. If I was going this short again I'd most likely stick with a .284 rather than a magnum case for the reasons...

Moa Hunter liked post by bigbear On thread : Are Labradors good at finding Large Game?
All i will stay is buying a $1500 pup and a $150 is not necessary going to make it a better hunting dog. The time you put in makes a difference. Also you will make mistakes training your first dog. ...

This age old debate , I've spent some time in the bar at dog trail clubs listening to the so called experts trying to thrash this out, even seen it end up in fisty cuffs!!.My 2 cents I think the lab...

You need a line bred, genetically stabilized dog owner. You will hear a lot of talk but without a pedigree, the dog has no idea what it will be getting.

Don't leave backsteaks unattended while cooling the meat down. I believe they disappear pretty quick
