I shot a small 6 pointer stag yesterday. Left the head in a tree to be picked up at a later stage. And carried the rest of the carcass for a good 1.3km walk.

Does the extractor slip over the case rim when extracting and how much force does that take? There may be a slight ring in the chamber or you loads may be too hot. After almost 50 years of loading...

Are there any marks on the fired case. The chamber may be a bit rough and the case is sticking to the wall of the chamber.

Probably not what you want to hear but i brought a few firearms over from the UK and found it was easier, not too much more expensive and less stressful to fly there and bring them back as luggage....
