Ive shot maybe 30 deer with the 223 Marty out to 200m and all deer have been accounted for. Just don't take silly shots is my only advice.

I would suggest mangamate hut as being worth a look. Go in from River road up the main whirinaki track then up the mangamate stream to the hut. Doesn't get a lot of hunting pressure, is not a huge...

BLc2 works well with 140 grn in my 18". 2800 fps. And CF223 for 3k with 120 grn Noslers or Sierras. Both work just fine.
