Thanks guys for the welcome, Yes Phil, the 204 Ruger would definitely take out a pig with a well placed 39grainer, to be fair, but the AR15 with the 30 round mag allowed for half the mob to be taken...

I need to enjoy it or it will never leave the safe. It has competition. Totally understand that. The most practical sensible rifle I own doesn’t get out much, because I don’t find it as...

Greetings Phil, I have read that the .243 Baikal has a twist of 1 in 10 and would be surprised if it was any slower than 1 in 12. Either of these twists should stabilise the 58 grain Vmax. A couple...

Greetings Phil, .308 and .223 rifles have lived in my rifle cupboard for the last 40 years, something that is unlikely to change. Had I procrastinated a little longer my latest .223 may have become...

It would have to be something 30 calibre but not on extreme ends of speed spectrum so for me it's a toss-up between 30-06 and 308. There isn't a lot you can not accomplish hunting-wise with either of...

For NZ the 308 as the best all rounder, ammo availability etc but my favourite cartridge is the mighty 7x57 of which my personal custom rifle will be chambered in.
