   Both cals you mentioned are great i love both 6.5 and 7mm however if you are new you wont be handloading ammo so id go the 7mm-08 over 6.5 as off the shelf ammo is better what ever you do dont get...

   nothing wrong with 223 deer cullers used 222 for years.... as others have said shot placement is important as with any rifle but more so as you go down in cal my advice would be plenty of range time...

    yep this is real bench mark 2 data so feel free to use it min is 21gn max being 23.4gn so id load up 5 if each 21gn 21.5gn 22gn 22.5gn 23gn 23.4gn
