Born in Auckland. Hunter and shooter (professionally and recreationally) for 54 years. Was actively involved in SAR as a park ranger, and SAR Adviser and Search Coordinator for NZ Police (35 years). NZ Mountain Safety Council bushcraft and firearms safety instructor (22 years).

    Staying on the thread of whales and cartridges..the bigger of these 2 cartridges has a 14.5 mm projectile, and is the current one DoC uses for whale euthanasia; the smaller one (6.5 x 55) was used...
