Born in Auckland. Hunter and shooter (professionally and recreationally) for 54 years. Was actively involved in SAR as a park ranger, and SAR Adviser and Search Coordinator for NZ Police (35 years). NZ Mountain Safety Council bushcraft and firearms safety instructor (22 years).

    Grandpamac: that's because the tectonic plates are moving slowly, hence the hills are getting higher and steeper, and the kilometres are getting longer. Well, that's how I cope with the situation....
