superdiver liked post by Rusky On thread : .233 factory loads for deer
The 223 has sufficient power to bring down every deer species in NZ. Having a big calibre to take shots from all angles and basically destroy large portions of meat is not a good hunting practice in...

Haha been there, done that. Never plan on going down any creeks in the kaimais. Sooner or later they turn into waterfalls, walls narrow in, and supple jack trys to strangle you to death.

Yea there is broadleaf in there. You'll hardly ever find any leaves on the ground. I was once in there and found a bunch of mushrooms nibbled on and deer sleeping peacefully 20m away. The main...

BeeMan liked post by Rusky On thread : Close but no sika
I find that Sika normally aren't far off water sheds where streams/creeks converge into basins. If you sidle these slowly you'll normally bump into them. If you hunt the kaimais like myself then...

Condolences to the family. It sucks and makes me sick to my stomach with the thought of all those affected. Wish there was a way to stop this happening but we've been saying this for 30+ years now so...
