Looking at the light chunks of soil, I'm betting that's a swampy area that's had fill put in it and spread out. Usually doesn't fix the problem.

If it's as slippery as it looks it probably puts very little stress on the empty machine, probably a lot less than travelling on a dry bumpy road fully loaded.

Honda CTs will seriously struggle on any kind of soft sand. If you find an auto bike with a rear disc brake you could probably rig up a lever easy enough. Unless riding rough terrain at speed...

Yeah I'm st5ill running mine, love it, good quality and does what I need it to, has a very low shoulder height when not full as you can roll the top down.
