Easiest way- stand the barrels upside down in a bucket and spray down the bores liberally with CRC or WD40. Leave overnight and a patch should take the whole lot out.

It's usually plastic from the wads unless you are using fibre in which case it's lead. It can be scraped out if you wish or a stiff bronze brush or turks head will get rid of it in a few passes...
