   well the 338 has taken fallow at ranges as close as 130 mtr at low 4x mag and shot out at 600mm and 300mm square targets 1 km at 24x mag . as mentioned 3-15 x 44 is a great size for all round...

   fitted one of these to my 308 bush rifle and find it excellent , but primarily for short range bush hunting . what sort of ranges are you expecting to hunt at? my 338 long range and hunting...
