    I brought an AR with the aim of having a 10/22 on steroids. It's filled that role, handy semi thats easy to shoot, cheap to run and unlike the 10/22 can reach out to 200m.

    As an exercise I often estimate ranges using a mil dot scope. Practice on fence posts, and the like. You have to know the height of the target to calculate the range though. Targets height in metres...
