Bag from China arrived. It's surprisingly well made with thick material, but the zips on these cheap bags usually break first. Anyway, it's a good fit. I'll need to sort out some foam or something...

I'm using a Thompson Contender (older original style, sometimes referred to as a G1) with 30-30 barrel, a DPT suppressor, and Bushnell red dot on top. Done away with the plastic foregrip to reduce...

There’s a new operator out of Springfield. They’re awfully close to 13 mile bush, Korowhai/Torlesse etc.

As an aside, the Nick Harvey reloading manual from ‘93 shows loads up to 70gn for the 1:14 222’s and 1:12 223’s.

From what I’ve gleaned off the interweb, they were designed for 1:14 barrels and have a shorter ogive. I don’t know the ballistic ramifications of that but the history of their use in slow twist...

Interesting thread. Given all the hype of faster twist barrels to run the heavier projectiles in the 223’s, I thought I was limited up to 55gn and maybe up to 60 in all my 22cals as they are all 1:14...

Very slow for a rem mag of that barrel length. I wouldn’t be happy with that as you might aswell have a 7mm08 in that case. I would be working towards more speed. For a 24” barrel I would be happy...
