    7 rem mag is the way to go. But really look at what ammo/projectiles are available at the moment. You will need to practice a bit to get proficient to 500m.

    Sparrowhawk has the best setup, a little further south though. Malvern(?) rifle club has a range at the base of Porters Pass. Not sure what classes they shoot.

    When I use Shooter and have a shot at 700 yds +35 degrees it says up 12.8moa, when I keep everything the same but switch to -35 degrees it says up 12.6moa. So if the shot is long enough up vs down...
