It's what happens when the food on the ground thins out, rats turn to birds. I've seen 3 of the kōkako nests I've found and monitoring raided by rats so far this season, and it's early days yet...

After a good stint away from the hunting it was awesome to get back in the bush again and even better to nail a nice spring deer re stocking the freezer with saveloys for the kids. I hope you enjoy...
