Another point to ask and wont fix what you are looking at but may be another issue. Are you using a scope? If s, does the mount come back over the action when closed? You still have the sight ramp on...

Dont worry about head shots. Hit the chest which is still not large. Almost all the meat is below the rib cage so meat damage from a lung shot is not as great as with a deer/ goat etc....

Keep it and shorten it. Swapping wont gain much and you wont have enough change to justify changing to another rifle. Take into account the costs of swapping ammo etc and just like that you spent...

Tha the Tampon will kill you faster than the hole you plug....They are designed to absorb liquids. Absorbtion is NOT what a penetration wound needs. It needs the bleeding stopped and stopped fast....
