Both very good ideas. As far as the fines migrating through to the trenches goes, can you have sumps at intervals which can be dug out every year or three?

Most .22 cals seem to be 1/2x20, so sticking with that would allow the can to be used on any other .22 ish rifles you have or may have. Then you can buy one good one instead of two or more cheaper....

Mate has just gone through the same thing with his doberman. Bruno is quite old but he's adapted remarkably well. Was walking (albeit a bit gumby) after a day. Pretty much has the hang of it a month...
