yeah 308 have used for 50 years - shot from 110 grain right up to 180 grain - but now stick to 150 grain - the 110 grain was FS supplied stubby little round nosed projectile - the goat cullers did...

My mate shoots a lot of deer with a Maxtoch. His constant retort is why do I need a thermal and I got a 320 1/2 DS red stag with my torch. Hard to beat. LOL.

When you are talking about still effective killing you would need at least 7gr's otherwise it would dribble out of the barrel. My mate has 9 baffles on his DPT can. It is very quiet.
