Chris Cahill was of the opinion that shooters really only needed one shotgun and one rifle. Once I got past my indignation at his statement, I realised that it was an interesting challenge. If...

Giant noisy cartridges don't count. Yes you can shoot anything with them. I can shoot rabbits with my 7mm RM for $2.50/round. Shot hundreds of rabbits with 6.5x47L reloads at $2.40/rnd. .223 has...

I'd say so yes. You can buy a 1000 round tin of locally made ammo that will kill pretty much anything in the country. Cheap enough to shoot rabbits and goats and wallabies with. Powerful enough to...

I'd go with 223 for bulk buying if you're not into reloading. Got much 7.62x39 ammo left? if so, a bolt gun in that cal is a no brainer. A suppressor on it will help too.

223 a fine little caliber but I'd give the most versatile all-rounder title to the 243. Ideal flat shooter for very long range varmints, good range of projectiles down to 55gr, but much more...

No, I think you are right. Not much it can't do with the right bullet and sensible use.

I had my first hunt with my new .223 Howa Mini today and it got me thinking. After having shot a .22, 8x57, .303, .308, .270, .44mag, 30/30, 7mm08 I’ve come to the conclusion that the .223 is...

Yea I'm not a fan of the mag....easy to drop out inadvertently, would rather a flush mag or internal mag but still a great rifle for its intended purpose(training up the Son)

Pity they put such an abomination of a magazine and bottom metal combination on an otherwise really nice package.
