I used to hunt fallow in similar forest conditions and 300aac was AOK for the job. Though I doubt you need a round that big for goats at short distance. I guess you are thinking more about the noise...

If that barrel isn't yet firmly attached I can share a lapping tool with you to ensure the barrel and receiver meet at a perfect 90 degrees. I'm not far up the road so just let me know.
