About zarathustra
Biography:
Back in NZ after 20 years of work and travel in Europe and Asia, so decided to once again look into target shooting. When I had younger eyes I was a competitive Smallbore and Fullbore shooter and wrote for NZ Guns Magazine during its formative years. Now that I'm finally back home to NZ I am rekindling my old interests in rifles and shooting.

No WTF needed.... Let me clarify..... I shot a deer with it when I was about 18; young, dumb and thought I knew it all, as teenagers do. It was only about 15m away (a fallow doe). But it's not...

No doubt about it, Ruger had a shocking batch of barrels in the mid 80s, maybe late 80s. A mate had one of the bad bunch and it was unbelievably poor accuracy. I swore never to town one but after...

Your cleaning method is pretty good, but I would do the Marlin action differently. Strip the action from stock, detach spring setup from receiver, then after removing bolt from receiver clean bolt...

I don't think you can answer the question properly without a little more context, are we talking a rifle that already shoots well but want to improve upon, a custom build from the base up or a rifle...
