Thanks for the suggestions gentleman. I’ve narrowed it down to a handful and will show the boss, she can pick which she'd like to be seen with in public most.

G'day,
Looking for an NZ made vest for hunting. Kiwi made gear is always a preference though I will consider something made in Aus, the states or Europe, but nothing in asia.
Something warm in...
Probably because all the research now indicates that deer see on the blue spectrum.
I agree, I use a 54 with 230gr balls as standard but I’m having a custom 58 that shoots 270gr balls built. I also have my 62 fusil that shoots a 320gr (I think) ball, it’s a smoothy and I haven’t...
Good on you mate, nothing beats the black powder. If you want to hunt in wet conditions, put a bit of Vaseline or similar around the nippl/cap and you’ll be right. I take my flinter out in the rain,...
Are you familiar with the 7x57/275 Rigby?
Been killing game up to elephant size since the late 1800's, such a good cal they felt the need to make an almost ballistic replica 100 years later in the...
I'm far from an expert but I find the locks are as individual as people. The biggest challenge is figuring out what each one likes, nothing worse than a purely tuned/functioning lock.
I suppose bows still work in the rain quite well at least, but don't write off the old flintlock she's filled my freezer more than once!
I do have a couple of bows, haven't used them for a few years. I've seen others do some impressive shooting with them but I was never much good myself.
Not overly keen on either of those things myself, though I'm a new aged guy so I don't judge others!
What's the gun mate? Looks like a beauty
Beautiful stag mate, but on the contrary to your last point I think old stags are some of the most fascinating buggers out there. They don't get to go backwards by being dumb.
I haven't tried it for a few years now but i couldn't get it right. I just found it so bland - the seasoning seemed to mostly fall off and the inner meat was just a plain meat flavour. Do you soak...
Hot rub.
Tracking a stag and a couple of hinds into this labyrinth when I came across this rub. I could smell him at this point so I continued and not 40m further on I heard something moving...
G'day all,
Looking for someone willing to help out a lowly aussie - you may have heard that we like to come over to hunt all your deer and sleep with all your women. Well that may be true, but...
Public land buck I took recently. He was chasing some does while croaking his head off. GPS said I chased him for about 2.5km before getting into 70m when he held up on the edge of some thick stuff....
Nah, RWS UNI Classic's. I don't really use scopes anymore, this gun in particular has never had one so my shooting rarely goes beyond 100m. At these ranges I've not had an animal make it more than 10...
Handmade but not custom, nice steel N690c but not a "super steel".
This was my birthday present this year from my wife, a Cudeman Akeley.
I have it shaving sharp and by the end of breaking...
Great work mate!
Eh it ain't old school until you load from the muzzle.
I haven't worn camo in I don't know how long, shot one deer with my flintlock from under 20 yards this year. I'll give the hunting industry...
Yeah that's a whole other topic.
We did breed from her once and kept a pup, Pepper. She was hit by a car at 4 months old.
Moo had a hell of a time with retained placenta's and mastitis so we...
Yeah that was her as a pup, the original photo is long gone but she's chewing a bone with the ear muffs.
I was renting that place with my girlfriend back then. Now I'm married to her with 3 kids...

How time flies.
After 10 years of great companionship from the best mate and hunting partner you could ever ask for we laid Ellie to rest this week. Toughed out the last 12 months with cancer but...
As Oldbloke said, it's not NZ here. A quick google search will show you news articles of what happens when you're caught doing the wrong thing. Confiscation of vehicle, guns etc. and decent fines.
