I would feel a bit iffy about taking a 500m shot on a deer using the loads I have played around with in my Grendel to be honest.
On the ballistics calculator it just craps all over my .223 loads. But in saying that, I have and witnessed others pull off some amazing shots with .223's. I've only shot one deer with a .223, but...
