Slow day out of Ohiwa harbor. The bar was a bit lumpy with more wind blowing than forecast but we push out as there's little swell and wind was forecast to drop, which it did.

Tried lures only today and picked up one good carrot from the middle of the bay and a 36cm blue cod from in close when I tucked in...

Well done Shearer, fresh trevs are bloody good eating. Dusted in flour and fried in butter.

Beautiful night last night, no wind, light drizzle and stillness that calms the mind. Only the noise of the lambs on surrounding farms and crashes and splashes as baitfish broke the oily surface.

Tried for a flounder on softbaits this morning, fishing the incoming tide, no luck. Bit early for Kahwai to be chasing bait up the creek, so into gathering mode.

Perfect looking conditions out there Cam, bummer about the long-line.

Good tovget Mini-cam out and into it and can't complain with Kahawai and Gurnard.

Cold SE wind meant tucking in close to the coast today, out fishing with a neighbour in his boat. Three gurnard, 2 that went 44cm, 2 spikey dog and one southern sail fish.
