I have a 14.6 inch barrelled carbine that delivers 2018 fps with a 194 gr paper patch bullet over 44 gr AR2209. Paper patched bullets are faster than jacketed.

Hi there TBark.
Tells us more about your Canada hunting experiences. I have family in Canada but I've no idea where exactly.
I witnessed that happening. Also shooting possum. The battery shorted across the rim setting off the cartridge. I don't recall the bullet being found, just the case which was not blown open.
One comment on the facebook page says the 'temptation' is too great, what with all the money the farmers are making. But these poachers are just shooting and leaving the animals so money plays no...
Recoil should be nothing more than a gentle push with a suppressor. In fact, a slower powder and more of it should produce even less recoil with a suppressor. Is yours an over-barrel design? Some...
I am in awe of you! You have done what I have been wanting to do only I only wanted to re-bore shot out 303 barrels to 357. I was thinking of using the feed to drive the rifling cutter at a...
Doesn't that sound a bit familiar? When the orange patch of deer hair tuned out to be someone's blaze orange hunting cap?
One wonders just how much he paid the judge? In reality, only a small proportion of murders even get investigated in that country. Out of 18,000 murders per year. That's 50 murders a day! My...
It sounds like the lead ingestion is coincidental. But what I read on the 'net indicates that cattle can and do die from ingesting lead. We humans can swallow the same lead and nothing happens. To...
I'm afraid lead poisoning in cattle is real (sheep and dogs too).

Suspiciously, I found a heap...
Shooting of a rest set up is very good for learning sight picture and trigger control. It'll improve your general shooting quite a bit.
That scissor jack idea is real neat! I'm going to copy it...
Paper patching works in the ol' 303 too!

Also look up the Hodgdon load data online. ADI make several of their powders like AR2208 is Varget, AR2209 is H4350 and the list goes on. Hodgdon have a more comprehensive load data library.
The old 303 is capable of very good case life with moderate loads and neck annealing if you use regular dies. I never full length size a case - only neck size. Accuracy can be pretty good too.
Wouldn't those WWII tracers be collectable? If I had some I'd be keeping them for sure.
I've had falling shotgun pellets all around me. They're just falling pellets. Not the same as being caught in the trajectory though! My problem with a shotgun is how one caries 100 shotshells...
Rusky nailed it! ''Assume everything that moves is a human before identifying as otherwise''
Thank goodness for that. There are times I am happy to be wrong!
I like that one. Very good advice. I shall make it my mantra.
Vertically fired rifle bullets come back down backwards and still spinning. Angled bullets are likely to come down nose first unless very steeply angled. Shotgun pellets are way safer. I was hit...
Heard on the radio yesterday that the young man died. Haven't checked it out though. Apparently it was his father who shot him.
Having just lost my own son I can only say there can only be one...
This could mean your cammo is not cammo at all. Not to wasps and deer anyway. Washed with fabric brightener perhaps? Fabric brightener has a UV reflective component which wasps and deer alike can...
Well said, Gillie.
I plan on heading into the bush sometime fairly soon, hopefully this winter. I have to decide which way to go. It has been allegedly proven that Blaze orange reduces the...
I'm undecided on whether to be unseen or mistaken for a deer. Being unseen means a very small chance of being hit by a stray bullet while being seen and misidentified and shot at means a good chance...
Not so. Deer see green and blue but not red. Pink is blue and red so it will stick out like a beacon to a deer - not sure that matters. Red appears green to deer as does orange and yellow. That's...
I got the picture - thanks. Well that makes him just that much more dumber! I hope he doesn't have a firearm licence - I wouldn't want to be out in the woods when he's out there.
