Well I’ve spent a couple of weeks commuting around Auckland and driving to and from home in The weekends on a souped up DR650.
Bloody awesome around town but I might try something a bit more road...
Nah mate, just different role, bit more specialised.
Yeah I'm 6'1" and 95kg so not sure if I'll be too big for the 390s or not.
Planning on taking the KTM Duke, Yamaha MT03-07, Kawasaki Verseys for a ride if I can find some to try.
It's relative, I'm in Northland.
I see yamaha do a MT07 Tracer, bit more upright, might be a good comprimise between an adventure style bike and a street bike.
I was looking at them, thinking about trading the wifes Highlander in for one. But yeah the EV range would need to quadruple first.
I always said the same, both about Auckland and road bikes.
Now I've got an opportunity for my dream job and the wife can go back to university, after four years we will re-evaluate.
Cheers,
My mate is lending me his DR600 for a few weeks to see if I like commuting on a bike etc.
I'm pretty keen on having ABS though.
Cheers for the advice.
Haven't even got my learners yet, but will get it tomorrow and do the course to get my 6R pretty quick. I will likely have my full by the time I get a bike, I'll need it for the hours I work anyway....
I'm having to move to the Auckland in the next 12-24 months and looks like I'll have a 70km, 35km each way, commute each day, 80% motorway. I don't like the thought of driving my ute in traffic...
