The boyds evolution stock takes free floating a barrel to the extreme, so thats a perfect solution in that stock.

If you are looking at fully free floating the barrel, you might want to consider a second point to secure the action to the stock. The 10/22 only has a single action screw in it's standard form, but...
My DPT 22 can is a muzzle forward can, so no overbarrel measurement required.
