I also have one of these - and with a good mat they're excellent for the slightly warmer seasons, and good thermals etc doable for slightly colder -but not too cold unless you're really layering them...
Does anyone run one of the Savage Lightweight Storms or Ultralights? Was looking at them recently, and thought I might see one on this thread!
I second the Macpac bush cocoon and swazi Windriver fleece. Have recently (in last 18 months) gotten both of those - and love them. The bush cocoon is light and compact, but super functional and...
What a story - and such a harvest! Puts me to shame, less than half your age and struggling to get the odd deer haha! Good set up with the quad. Always enjoy reading your exploits Tahr, as Mickeyduck...
Should have entered but never got around to it! I imagine that many more goats would have been destroyed by LFAO, and not counted during the same period.
I liked the idea of swags, however wanted something lighter and ended up going for a hooped bivy bag. I have just brought one of the Macpac Bush cocoons, and am keen to see how that goes! Might even...
Great job mate - that's an excellent number. As someone still learning / teaching myself with hunting (all bush hunting) getting goats has been easy, working on learning better habits with deer can...
Another good fleece jacket is the swazi windriver - I got one a few months ago and love it.
Saw this on TM awhile ago I think! Great score. Seemed a bargin!
Out of interest - is there an option out there for the takedown design that you had shown early on in the Elude development process? Just a very interested observer, no funds available yet haha....
Exactly the info I was after. Thanks very much! Will be going mid week so hopefully a few less people (perks of shift work).
Thanks for the info mate! From looking at Topo50 looks like doc land starts towards the end of Owawenga road access? Can you access much further along from where the road turns into two tracks, or is...
Hey guys
Looking to go for an explore into the pureoras via Owawenga road - and interested whether anyone has been in via that access road recently. Having never actually driven it, interested in...
Done - again somewhat doubtful what difference it will make. Especially as so much is rammed through under urgency and minimal or ignored consultation, just agenda driven. However I don't want to...
What kind of bivvy bag do you use Micky Duck?
Purchased one as a project, and turns out the firing pin was broken. Have both pieces still. Will have a chat to a couple of mates and see if it can be welded, or see any connections for having a new...
Hey Team - sorry to receive an older thread, however I was wondering if anyone has any leads on a new firing pin for my stirling 20p? Thanks
Hey guys
Just wanting to question the general Waikato hunters on here.
I'm planning an overnighter in North Pureora accessing from Tolley's Rd - and was wondering what numbers have been like...
With good rehab and targeted exercises, I would think you should get back to a better level of mobility then prehip replacement. However -like you say, prosthetic hips are far more likely to...
Thanks again for the gift of it! It is getting frequently used, and have had great results with it so far.
Haha well it really is around your backyard. It's a bushblock plentiful for goats, the deer are fewer and further between though. Some farmers who are generous with their access though -...
Haha yes they were MD - apologies for the edits, just keeping a low ish online profile for the kids sake. Was a great time had by all.
Went for our first overnighter with my 4 year old son, along with a mate and his 4 year old daughter. Was a nice cruisey hunt - the focus being on making it an enjoyable time for the two youngsters,...
Hey mate
Just on your mentioning of the Burris Signature HD 3-15x44 - as I have had one before. It is lovely glass (there is a review by Tahr somewhere on here which is well worth a read) but it is...
